I. Evaluate, report and certify

Evaluate, report and certify the ethical and bioethical aspects of research projects submitted for evaluation by researchers from the Catholic University of the Santísima Concepción or other institutions, which involve all types of studies on human beings (physical and/or psychological intervention, as well as such as databases referring to human beings), animals, microorganisms, or biological samples of human origin.

II. Ensure compliance with ethical and bioethical standards

Ensure compliance with national and international ethical and bioethical standards, as well as institutional standards, applicable to the research projects indicated in the previous point.

III. Ensure the protection of people's rights

Ensure the protection of the rights of people who participate as volunteers in research and experimentation.

IV. Track and record

Monitor and maintain records of the ethical and bioethical aspects of approved projects.

V. Receive queries or complaints

Receive and resolve queries or complaints from the participants of a research project, regarding their rights.

VI. SAW. Advise researchers

Advise researchers and encourage reflection regarding compliance with good practices in scientific research, current regulations and fundamental ethical principles.
